Computers

Computers are a part of every classroom and are regarded as a “tool” to student’s learning. The Board has recently prepared a three pronged upgrade with Phase I having recently been completed. Classrooms also have individual digital cameras, with data projectors being shared around the rooms.

Playgrounds

The school has two large adventure type playgrounds, one in the Junior School and one in the Senior School.

After School Care

A classroom has been set up to provide a facility for the After School Care Programme. This programme operates after school only. Contact with the supervisor can be made by phone: 0274 823 138.

School Hall

A school hall serves as a venue for school events i.e. wet weather Physical Education, Assemblies, school discos.

Hire of Facilities

The hall, classrooms and boardroom are also available for hire.  Hire can be on a one off basis or for regular bookings.  Please contact Sara McLay on (04) 232 6509 or email office@hamptonhill.school.nz. The Facilities Hire Agreement and Application and Agreement for Hire must be completed at time of application.

Procedure

  1. School facilities and resources may be made available for use by the community and any other potential users at the discretion of the Principal.
  2. Activities for which the facilities are hired out must be consistent with the educational aims of the school and must not interfere with school operations.
  3. Applications for use of school facilities and resources must be approved by the principal and formalised through a written agreement signed by the school principal and a representative of the user group.
  4. The Principal and BOT will consult annually to establish the schedule of fees or charges to be applied for the hire or use of school facilities and resources.
  5. Hire of school facilities will be in accordance with the Facilities Hire Agreement (attached).
  6. Hire must be booked in advance.
  7. Payment for hire must be paid in advance
  8. Hirers must comply with all school policies.
  9. Payment for hire will not be required for activities linked to school business e.g. meetings of professional education bodies, sporting codes etc.

Scheduled Rates: These fees are to be reviewed annually.

The rates for hire for 2012 are:
Hall: $200 per day (GST ex); $25 per hour (GST ex)
Classroom/Boardroom/Library (school hours only): $20 per hour (GST ex)
Field $100 per day (GST ex); $20 per hour (GST ex)
A bond of between $100 – $1000 will be negotiated at the time of hire.
